Gianluca Fortino was born in Switzerland on August 17, 1976. At age 11 he began studying the guitar. He moved to Italy at 13 years old where he continued his studies with Maestro Marcello Serafini until he graduated in 2003 at the Conservatory of Novara. He played guitar in the guitar orchestra “Sextha Consort” of Varese (Italy) and is director of the mandolin and guitar orchestra “Eliante” in Mendrisio (Switzerland).
He teaches classical guitar at several schools in Switzerland and Italy.
He loves many kind of music and always had a great interest in writing music. He also wrote works for solo guitar, two guitars, guitar and mandolin, and plectrum orchestra.
He loves Johann Sebastian Bach’s music unconditionally.
