Prelude and Fugue

" [...] Dusan Bogdanovic produces works which are never less than interesting and are mostly very inventive, entertaining and well-crafted compositions. His Prelude and Fugue for guitar and piano is an atonal, contemporary work which inclines towards the style of jazz. There are no lingering melodies to latch on to, the work relying upon rhythmic configurations, often in imitation, thrown between the two instruments. Although everything here is written down, there is an element of improvisation as the end result. I would place this one in the 'interesting/inventive' compartment rather than entertaining. This edition would be appropriate for the high grade guitar /piano duo seeking new material of the 'modern' kind."
