Mece (Rocking) is a tribute to Chilean poet Gabriela Mistral, whose work often centered on childhood and maternal themes. Inspired by her poetry, the piece conveys a gentle, lullaby-like atmosphere and is organized into four contrasting sections. Each explores a range of textures, techniques, dynamics, and articulations to showcase the expressive potential of the classical guitar. The piece was dedicated to and premiered by Chilean guitarist Carlos Pérez.
