The piece “Bulgaresque No. 3” is part of a cycle of chamber music works composed for a variety of ensembles. These pieces are influenced by contemporary Bulgarian music, characterized as a kind of “jazz-folk” fusion firmly rooted in folk traditions. In addition to the modal language and irregular rhythms, I included improvised sections within the structure of the piece, always supported by a fixed harmonic framework in the accompaniment.
